The program emphasizes the relationship between everyday life and biology through practical research in laboratories.

Village students study chemistry in 10th grade.  Students who are highly academically motivated, and are interested in chemistry and research. These students are invited to study the subject for a three year period, instructed by quality, caring professional teachers.

Each student submits a portfolio of research papers and takes an external lab exam “Chemistry – an investigative approach’ and a theoretical exam on their topic of choice.

As a part of the educational process, the chemistry department works in cooperation with the Davison Institute for Science Education in Rechovot. The cooperation includes educational field trips and a variety of seminars.
