Educational Leadership and Social Change is a unique 5-unit matriculation program. The program aims to nurture youth as educational leaders who promote social change in their communities. According to the program's approach, this development occurs through theoretical studies in education and supporting sciences: sociology and psychology, combined with practical application through researching authentic social problems and addressing them using educational intervention tools.
At the program's peak, students conduct action research, investigating "social problems" within the school's community space, and develop and implement "educational programs" designed to address or reduce the social problem. This creates a broad perspective on education, connecting sociology, philosophy and psychology, leadership, and action research. In the long term, we aspire for our graduates to view education as a field of expertise and engagement in their adult lives, as involved citizens with interest and commitment to society and communities.
The program began at the school for the first time in the 2023-2024 academic year.
