Agro-Ecology

Agriculture is one of the most prominent examples of human intervention in nature, aimed at meeting the basic needs of human society (such as food and clothing) as well as the diverse needs and demands of affluent society (such as ornamental cultivation and pet raising). It characterizes non-urban areas and is one of the most influential factors in shaping the environment and lifestyle in these areas (rural landscape, open spaces, and green lungs), as well as urban areas (houseplants, ornamental gardens, and public parks).

Agricultural science is inherently interdisciplinary, integrating aspects of science, technology, economics, environment, and society.

Agroecology combines agriculture (agronomy) and ecology.

Want to know what an ecological system is? Is the stream near your home polluted and its habitats destroyed? What about the latest news article discussing the overexploitation of natural resources and the extreme climatic phenomena occurring recently worldwide? What causes them? Are you interested in preserving seasonal winter pools, learning to propagate endangered plant species and restore them to nature? Would you like to build a nesting facility for barn owls and eagerly watch for the owl to come nest in the house you built?

Your place is with us in the Agroecology track at Ayanot-Na'amat Youth Village. The program is studied at the 5-unit level. This scientific subject offers a 20-point bonus at higher education institutions.
